Serving the 19th District of Texas
Randy is currently serving his fifth term on the Agriculture Committee. The responsibilities and goals of the Ag Committee are as diverse as the needs of the American agriculture industry. They face challenges ranging from renewable energy to rural development and everything in between including disaster assistance, nutrition, crop insurance, conservation, international trade, futures market regulation, animal and plant health, agricultural research and development, bio-terrorism, forestry and many others.
Randy is also in his fifth term on the Financial Services Committee
where he has been selected to serve as the Chairman of the
Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. As part of the
leadership of this committee, he has the opportunity to shape
policy that affects small businesses and local financial
institutions that, along with agriculture, make up the heart of our
district’s economy. Congressman Neugebauer’s leadership duties will
encompass oversight of issues relating to banking, housing and the
financial and commodity markets.
The Financial Services Committee oversees issues of everyday
concern to District 19 and all Texans, such as the entire financial
services industry, investor protection, keeping the banking system
healthy, insurance regulation, and making sure businesses have
access to the capital they need to expand and create jobs. The
Committee also has jurisdiction over the work of the Federal
Reserve, the United States Department of the Treasury, the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission, and other financial services
regulators.
During the 112th Congress, Randy is also serving as a Regional
Chairman for the NRCC, overseeing the state of Texas. He will also
continue to serve on the Science and Technology Committee, which
has jurisdiction over nearly all of the non-defense scientific
research and development.
